Meet Laticia, Who Lost 42 Pounds in Six Months with CleanFoodCrush

My name is Laticia, and I am a 41-year-old single dog mom. It is just me and my dog, Bentley, and our life is always on the move.

My schedule can be very hectic because I travel often for work throughout the United States as a senior catastrophe claims adjuster. Most of my workdays are spent climbing roofs, inspecting properties, and assessing damage to homes and businesses. With that kind of routine, it was difficult to slow down, plan meals, or focus on healthy eating. For a long time, eating nutritious food simply was not on my daily to-do list.

I have always enjoyed being outdoors, especially hiking and traveling. Because my job is physically demanding and I have always stayed active, I believed I could eat whatever I wanted without consequences. I assumed all the climbing, walking, and traveling would balance everything out. But in November 2019, I had a serious reality check when my weight climbed above 200 pounds. Seeing that number was the moment I realized something had to change.

Rachel always talks about your “why,” and my “why” slapped me in the face.

I knew that if I wanted to keep living the life I loved, including hiking, traveling, staying active, and enjoying new experiences, I had to start taking better care of myself. I could not continue making excuses and expect a different result. My “why” became clear: I wanted to feel strong, healthy, and capable for the long term.

My best friend, who I am sure was tired of hearing me complain about my weight, challenged me to join the 30 Day Clean Eating Challenge. I decided to give it a try because I felt like it might be the fresh start I needed. It turned out to be exactly that.

As a military veteran, I do not like making excuses. When I commit to something, I take it seriously, and I do everything I can to finish what I started. I decided to treat this challenge as a commitment to myself. It was not just about losing weight. It was about showing up for my health, my confidence, and my future.

After completing my first CleanFoodCrush challenge in December, I became an annual member because I knew the accountability would help me stay focused. Having structure, support, and a clear plan made a major difference for me, especially with a busy travel schedule.

Before CleanFoodCrush, I did not understand how much food could affect my body, energy, mood, and overall well-being. I did not read labels, and I did not pay much attention to what I was eating. That has completely changed. I am now more aware of the ingredients in my meals, and I understand the importance of choosing foods that fuel my body instead of slowing me down.

Even though I am often in and out of hotels, I have learned how to eat more balanced, nutritious meals. Clean eating has become more realistic and manageable for my lifestyle. I also enjoy cooking more than I expected, and I look forward to trying a new recipe each week. The process has helped me build healthier habits that fit into my real life, rather than forcing me into a strict diet that would be impossible to maintain.

I have lost 42 pounds in six months of CFC, and I have never felt better.

In addition to changing the way I eat, I include exercise in my daily routine. I am currently training to run my very first half marathon, which is something I am very proud of. Losing weight has given me more confidence, but the biggest change has been how much better I feel in my body.

I am truly grateful for CleanFoodCrush.

When people ask me what diet I am on, I always tell them the same thing: I am not on a diet. I made a lifestyle change. That mindset has made all the difference. Clean eating is not about perfection. It is about learning, making better choices, and being consistent enough to create lasting results.

My advice to new Crushers is to be patient with the process. Do not beat yourself up if you fall off track. Just pick yourself up and keep going. Even 10% effort is better than no effort at all. But if you truly want to see change, you have to want it enough to keep working for it and let go of the excuses that hold you back.
