Creamy Chocolate Banana Smoothie with Silk Cashewmilk

I’m happy to be partnering with Silk for this smoothie recipe to help spread the word about the creamy, delicious taste of their newest addition, Cashewmilk!

A few days ago I shared a recipe for Chocolate Chocolate Chip Greek Yogurt Banana Bread, and it seems chocolate and banana are the theme this week. Today I’m sharing a simple, creamy chocolate-banana smoothie made with just three ingredients: frozen banana chunks, unsweetened cocoa powder, and Silk Cashewmilk. I often make fruit-and-spinach smoothies, so this richer, chocolate-forward version was a fun change.

Many readers ask about dairy alternatives for my recipes, so I was excited to try Silk’s Cashewmilk. I used it in several ways: as a creamer for coffee, stirred into oatmeal, and in this smoothie. Cashewmilk has a smooth, slightly nutty creaminess that blends seamlessly with cocoa and banana. Freezing the banana first makes the smoothie thick and almost milkshake-like without any ice cream or added sweeteners.

This recipe captures the flavor of frozen chocolate-covered bananas, with a hint of nuttiness from the cashewmilk. It feels indulgent but is very straightforward to make. If you prefer a lighter smoothie, Cashewmilk is a pleasant non-dairy option because it’s very creamy without being heavy. The simple ingredient list keeps the flavor clean and true to chocolate and banana.

This smoothie tastes like a chocolatey milkshake but with much less fuss. It’s a great idea for breakfast, a snack after a workout, or an afternoon treat. Because you can adapt it easily, it’s perfect for customizing to your preferences while keeping things quick and wholesome.

Description

A creamy, chocolatey banana smoothie made with three simple ingredients for an easy, satisfying treat.

Ingredients

Scale

  • 2 medium bananas
  • 2 teaspoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup Silk Cashewmilk

Instructions

  1. Peel and chop bananas into 1-inch chunks and freeze until solid.
  2. Place frozen banana chunks, cocoa powder, and Silk Cashewmilk into a blender. Blend until smooth and creamy, pausing to scrape down the sides if needed.
  3. Pour into glasses and garnish with sliced banana and chocolate chips if desired. Serve immediately.

Tips and variations: For an even thicker smoothie, use slightly less cashewmilk or add another frozen banana. Add a spoonful of nut butter, a scoop of protein powder, or a pinch of cinnamon to customize the flavor. If you like it sweeter, stir in a small amount of maple syrup or honey to taste. To make a larger batch, scale the ingredients and blend in a high-powered blender or in batches.

Storage: This smoothie is best enjoyed fresh, but you can freeze leftovers in an airtight container and thaw briefly before re-blending for a smoothie-style texture.
